Amazon Smile

Link FBFN Foundation to your Amazon account and the Foundation receives 0.5% of your eligible purchases as a donation. That may not sound like much, but every little bit helps and it all adds up.

 Signing up and shopping is easy. Just go to https://smile.amazon.com and sign into your account. A screen will come up that says “Choose one of our spotlight charities” or “Pick your own charitable organization”. In that box, type in FBFN Foundation and click on the search button. The search page will show “FBFN Foundation.” Just click on the Select button. How easy is that?

 The only other thing that you need to do is add https://smile.amazon.com to your favorites list on your web browser and do your Amazon shopping from there.

 If you have already signed up with Amazon Smile and would like to change the charitable organization that you support, just sign in to your account. On the banner, the charity you designated is displayed. Hover your mouse over the name of the charity and a box will appear. In that box next to the name of the charity is word “Change”. Just click on it and follow the prompts.

Turn on AmazonSmile on your iOS or Android device: Open the app and find ’Settings’ in the main menu (). Tap on ‘AmazonSmile’ and follow the on-screen instructions to turn on AmazonSmile on your phone.

Kroger

Signing up at Kroger is just as easy. Go to https://www.kroger.com/. Sign in to your account and then click on My Account in the pull-down menu. On the left side of that page, click on Community Rewards. Just type FBFN Foundation in the "Find an Organization" search bar. When the FBFN Foundation box appears, just click on the "Enroll" button. Now when you shop at Kroger, scan your Loyalty Card and a percentage of your purchase will be donated to the Scholarship Fund.

A Letter to Potential Donors

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Fort Bend Friends and Neighbors (FBFN) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance the education of Fort Bend County students through our scholarship program. In May the Foundation awarded scholarships to 11 students who will attend college within Fort Bend County. Since 2005, 122 recipients have received a total of $244,000 in scholarships. Many of our winners are the first in their families to attend college. Their gratitude and record of academic success are indicative of the quality of our program.

The Foundation relies on the support of generous donors like you. Although our members contribute more than half of the funds, we strive to provide ten scholarships each year, however, we can't do it alone. Friends and businesses are needed to help us continue to help deserving students.

Our major fundraiser is a silent auction each year. We ask that you kindly consider supporting our event. There are four ways you can help us raise scholarship funds:

  • Donate one or more gift cards or gift certificates from your own business;
  • Donate one or more gift cards or certificates from restaurants and local businesses you frequent;
  • Donate a complete gift basket of a single high-value item (e.g., signed professional sports jersey); or
  • Donate cash directly to the FBFN Foundation.

All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged in the event program. Donor acknowledgement is provided.

If you would like further information, please contact Charlotte Guettner at [email protected]

Thank you for considering our request, and for your passion in advancing the education of students in Fort Bend County.

Regards,

Charlotte Guettner, President, FBFN Foundation                                          281-265-0282
